Basking in the natural beauty of Ringwood, NJ
Ringwood, New Jersey prides itself in its natural setting. The truly perfect weekend in the town would consist of nothing but basking in its natural beauty. On Saturday we would go to the New Jersey Botanical Gardens to observe the finely manicured gardens and grounds. After sufficiently viewing the grounds, we would head over to the Shepherd Lake section of the grounds to enjoy swimming boating and fishing. While there, we would also consider BBQing on the public grills available in the picnic area. We would then head up the road to the historic Ringwood Manor, the home of many prominent Ringwood families, most notably Robert Erskine, George Washington's cartographer for the state of New Jersey during the revolutionary war. For dinner we would head down to Prime 15 Steakhouse, a casual and moderately priced restaurant. After dinner we would make our way back to our lodgings at Skylands Manor in the Botanical Gardens.
